BASKETBALL BIO:

Coach Nareg Kopooshian is the Head Coach of the AGBU Canoga Park Varsity Boys Basketball Team. In his seven years leading the program, he has surpassed 100 career wins, guided the team to 2 CIF-SS Semifinal appearances, 2 CIF State qualifications, 3 League Championships, and multiple 20+ win seasons. Under his leadership, AGBU has risen from CIF-SS Division 5 to Division 2, reflecting the sustained growth and success of the program. Over the years, the success of AGBU Basketball has been recognized through features in numerous outlets, including Fox 11, LA Times, LA Daily News, SportsCenter Next, LA Weekly, and Bold Journey.

Coach Nareg is currently the Head Coach of the FIBA Armenia National U16 Team and also serves as an Assistant Coach for the FIBA Armenia Men’s National Team, currently competing in preliminary rounds for Olympic qualification. Beyond team responsibilities, he works with various NBA and Division I athletes during the offseason, helping them refine their skills at the highest level.

As a player, Coach Nareg scored over 1,000 career points in high school, competed at the collegiate level, played 4 games in the Taiwan SBL professional league, and spent a season in a Midwest semi-professional league. In 2016, he founded and now directs the Rebels Basketball Club, a program dedicated not only to developing athletes but also to providing mentorship, guidance, and life tools to help players achieve their long-term goals.Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach - AGBU High School — Canoga Park
